Equinix Internet Exchange (IX) allows networks to effectively exchange internet traffic. You can connect with peers through peering sessions and save time by managing your ports directly.
IX takes advanced measures to ensure the security of the platform by using the Internet Routing Registry, and offering BGP-based remotely triggered black hole filtering to drop DDoS attacks before they reach your router. This solution spans over 35 peering exchange points across the globe, with traffic peaks that exceed 10 terabits per second (Tbps).
Internet Exchange 2020.2.1 is available October 19, 2020.
This release includes an enhancement to the Link Aggregation Group (LAG) and redundant port capabilities by including remote IX ports in a LAG or redundancy pair.

Remote Port Eligibility Rules

Remote IX ports that enter the IBX through a third party can now be part of a LAG, and can be grouped as follows:
-
With a standard IX port and remote ports
-
Solely with a remote port
-
As part of a primary and secondary pairing
In addition, the primary or secondary ports can also be part of a LAG.
