Smart Hands vs. Custom Orders
When you need assistance from Equinix, use this topic to determine whether to submit a Smart Hands order or a custom order.
Most post-installation services can be requested via a Smart Hands ticket. But large requests, complex requests, or requests that require a firm quote should be requested as a Custom Sales Order.
This table shows the recommended order types for commonly submitted requests:

All Smart Hands requests should be ordered and approved by your company's authorized ordering contact.

Pricing: Customers are charged the Equinix materials rate for all parts/equipment used while performing Smart Hands work. Charges are billed on the completion date. For after-hours work in IBX data centers that do not have 24/7 on-site support, customers are charged a Smart Hands after-hours rate.
