MainOne Network Connect
MainOne is a provider of telecommunication services and network solutions for business in West Africa with an extensive network coverage with last mile extensions from its data center facilities to customer locations.
MainOne Network Connect on Fabric provides private, secure, and dedicated Layer 2 circuits to customer locations across 12+ countries within Africa.
Access to MainOne Network Services and Destinations
MainOne Network services can be accessed directly in London and Lisbon metros.
Note: Remote connections are allowed, but they will result in higher latency and may incur additional costs.
Prerequisites

An Equinix Fabric account.

An existing port or Network Edge virtual device. For information about ordering an Equinix Fabric port, see Order an Equinix Fabric Port. For information about ordering a Network Edge device, see Create a Single Virtual Device.

Permissions to access the A-side port or Network Edge device. For information about permissions, see Equinix Fabric Permissions.
Acquire a Service Token from MainOne
Connecting to MainOne Network Connect requires a Z-side service token. To obtain the token:

Contact your sales representative at MainOne or fill out the form to get a quote for the service.

Review your quote and place an order for a service instance with MainOne.
Once your order is processed, you will receive a service token allowing you to establish a Fabric connection.
Connect to MainOne Network Connect
To establish connection to MainOne Network Connect:

Log in to Equinix Fabric.

From the Connections menu, select Create Connection.

In the A Service Provider card, click Connect to a Service Provider.

In the Select a Service Provider section, on the Connect using a service token card, click Enter Service Token.

Enter the service token you received from MainOne and click Validate.

Review token details and click Redeem to proceed with creating the connection.

In the Origin section, select Port, or Virtual Device, then choose metro and select a port or a virtual device instance.

Click Next.

In the Connection Information section, enter:

Connection Name - The name for your connection

VLAN ID - Your VLAN ID (applicable to DOT1Q ports)

Customer VLAN Tag (C-tag) - Inner (customer) VLAN tag (applicable to QINQ ports)

Service VLAN Tag (S-tag) - Outer (service) VLAN tag (applicable to QINQ ports)

Enter purchase order number.

Select connection speed and click Next.

Review your order and click Submit Order.
