System Alert Notification Formats

If notifications are enabled for a system alert, recipients are notified (in near real time) whenever the alert is triggered. Notifications can be sent via email and/or SMS text.

A system alert notification contains the following information:

  • Location – IBX location where the alert was triggered.

  • During Maintenance – Indicates whether the alert was generated during a maintenance event. See Notifications During Maintenance.

  • Section – Data section category for which the alert was activated.

  • Asset Type – Type of asset, including its unique Asset ID.

  • Tag Display Name – Event type chosen during creation of the alert.

  • Alert Trigger – Reading of alert generation condition.

  • Current Reading – Reading recorded from existing state of the alert.

  • Date and Time of Occurrence – Date and time of alert activation, in the IBX's local time zone.

The notification formats differ slightly for the various data sections, as described below.

  1. Email

    • Location – IBX

    • During Maintenance – 'Yes' or 'No' depending on whether the alert was triggered during maintenance

    • Email Alert Description – Section/ Asset Type/ Tag Display Name: Alert Trigger

    • Current Reading – Current reading in platform

    • Date and Time of Occurrence – format: DD–Month–YYYY hh:mm Timezone

      • Example:

      Location: NY4

      During Maintenance: No

      Alert Description: Heartbeat electrical / circuit:945381/NORMAL/loadonbypass

      Current Reading: NORMAL

      Date and Time of Occurrence: 09-January-2022 22:41 Eastern Standard Time

  2. SMS

    • SMS Alert Description – Section/ Asset Type/ Tag Display Name: Alert Trigger

    • Current Reading – Current reading in platform

  1. Email

    • Email Alert Description – Section/ Asset Type/ Tag Display Name: Alert Trigger

    • Current Reading – Current reading in platform

  2. SMS

    • SMS Alert Description – Section/ Asset Type/ Tag Display Name: Alert Trigger

    • Current Reading – 'Now At' current reading in platform
