System alerts are generated by the system during monitoring of the data center assets. You can use these alerts to stay up-to-date on the operating status of the electrical and mechanical assets in your data center.
Unlike custom alerts:

System alerts are defined by Equinix. They are standardized across all IBX data centers.

System alerts are defined only for the Environmental, Mechanical, and Electrical data sections. (To receive alerts on Power Draw, define a custom alert.)

Active system alerts are monitored by the Equinix Global Operations Engineering team.
