Oracle Cloud
Oracle FastConnect allows you to connect to the public internet for connecting your network with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and other Oracle Cloud services. FastConnect provides an easy, elastic, and economical way to create a dedicated and private connection with higher bandwidth options, and supports a more reliable, consistent networking experience when compared to internet-based connections.
Equinix supports all FastConnect connectivity models, including:
-
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
-
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic
-
Oracle Government Cloud
For related Oracle information, see:
Use the Quick Connect workflow to connect from a port, a Fabric Cloud Router instance or using an A-side service token. Choose the classic connection creation workflow if you're connecting from a Network Edge virtual device.
-
You can announce a maximum of 2000 IPv4 prefixes to Oracle.
-
Individual VCN subnet addresses are announced back to the CPE over FastConnect BGP. If a new subnet is added, it is automatically announced over BGP. The main VCN CIDR is not announced.
-
CPE routes announced over FastConnect with BGP are not automatically propagated to subnets associated with the route table associated with the DRG.
-
Consequently, if a new route is announced from on-prem CPE, an entry must be made in the route table to enable accessibility of the on-prem route.
-
To minimize the effect of change, it's recommended to either consolidate multiple routes into a larger prefix or use the default route.
-
When creating a FastConnect connection in the Fabric portal, you can select from all available bandwidth speeds up to the maximum speed identified in the OCID.
-
The following connection speeds are available: 10 Mbps, 50 Mbps, 200 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 2 Gbps, 5 Gbps, 10 Gbps, 20 Gbps and 50 Gbps.
Note: 20 Gbps and 50 Gbps bandwidth options are available in select metros. For details, see 20 Gbps & 50 Gbps Virtual Connection Availability to Oracle Cloud.
-
If the bandwidth speed for the connection is lower than the speed identified by the OCID, we will rate limit traffic to the connection speed.
-
You can resize your connection bandwidth up to the maximum bandwidth identified by your OCID.
