Change Connection Bandwidth

You can resize your connections to match your current demand.

Important:
• Connection bandwidth can be changed one time during a 24-hour period.
• Connection bandwidth can be modified to speeds between 10 Mbps and 50 Gbps.
• If you change your connection’s bandwidth you will be charged based on the updated bandwidth rate for the billed day.
• If you are connected to a Service Provider, that Service Provider will control the maximum bandwidth speed available for bandwidth upgrade.
• Certain Service Providers, such as CSPs, may have additional steps that are required to modify the bandwidth speed on a connection. Please review the information for specific Service Providers HERE to see if you need to take additional action.

To change the connection bandwidth:

1. Log in to Equinix Fabric.

2. From the Connections menu, select Connection Inventory.
   

3. Locate and click the connection you want to edit.

   

4. Click Change, to the right of the connection's bandwidth information.

   

5. From the Bandwidth drop-down, select the desired value.

   

   Important: Bandwidth can only be upgraded to speeds of 10 Gbps or lower. Speeds higher than 10 Gbps are not available for bandwidth upgrade.

   The Pricing Overview will display the monthly charge associated with the new bandwidth.

6. Select I am authorized to make this change and accept the new monthly charge, then click Confirm.
