Device Statuses
Device status indicates the current lifecycle stage of a virtual device on the Network Edge platform. Statuses appear in the Virtual Device Inventory and Device Details views. An icon represents each status; hover over the icon to view a short description. Most statuses are transitional during provisioning, updates, or deletion. Some statuses are terminal or require user action.

How to Resolve Stuck Device Statuses
Use this guide when a device remains in a status longer than expected. Follow the steps for the category that matches your current status.
Before you begin
- Confirm the device status on the Device Details page
- Check how long the device has been in that status
- Compare with expected durations in the Device Status reference
If the status duration is within the normal range, no action is required.
Step 1: Identify your status category
Match your device status to one of the categories below:
| Category | Statuses |
|---|---|
| Order / Pre-provisioning | DRAFT, PENDING_SIGNATURE, PENDING_ORDER |
| Provisioning (in progress) | INITIALIZING, PROVISIONING, PROVISIONING_ONHOLD |
| High Availability / Cluster | WAITING_FOR_SECONDARY, WAITING_FOR_REPLICA_CLUSTER_NODES, CLUSTER_SETUP_IN_PROGRESS |
| Operational transitions | REBOOT_IN_PROGRESS, NETWORK_VNI_UPDATE_IN_PROGRESS, REINSTANTIATION_IN_PROGRESS, DEVICE_BACKUP_RESTORE_IN_PROGRESS |
| Error states | FAILED, LICENSE_FAILED, CLUSTER_SETUP_FAILED |
| System recovery | RECOVERY_INITIATED |
| Disabled / billing states | TO_BE_DISABLED, DISABLE_IN_PROGRESS, DISABLED |
| Deletion | DEPROVISIONING |
