Equinix Internet Access provides internet access in our Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers.

Equinix Internet Access August 2025
With this release customers can now order Internet Access services with a mix of Provider Independent (PI) and Provider Assigned (PA) IP addresses.
Using a mix of Equinix-owned (PA) addresses and BYOIP (PI) addresses is supported for Static or BGP routing for Internet Access service over Fabric Ports or Network Edge devices.

Equinix Internet Access 2024.09
Equinix Internet Access 2024.09 is available October, 2024.
With this release, customers can now include Equinix Internet Access in their customized configuration designs using Solution Builder.
Equinix Internet Access Available Through Solution Builder
Internet Access is now offered as a resource in Solution Builder, which helps users to easily design their configuration diagrams, then download them with cost estimates based on bandwidth commit and metro location. Drag-and-drop functionality enables users to add Internet Access as a component in their designs, then create connections to ports, service profiles, virtual devices, and IP-WAN networks. Equinix Internet Access 2024.07
Equinix Internet Access 2024.07 is available July, 2024.
Equinix Internet Access now provides the capability for resellers to create, view, and delete Network Edge virtual connections for their sub-customers as well as themselves. Also, this release includes support for dual, redundant connections with Network Edge. In addition, Internet Access with Fabric has increased its U.S. and APAC metro availability.
Equinix Fabric, Equinix Customer Portal, and Equinix Marketplace are accessible through a new URL. We recommend updating your bookmarks to portal.equinix.com/fabric, portal.equinix.com/ecp, and portal.equinix.com/mkp/.
Dual Virtual Connections for Internet Access with Network Edge
For increased reliability, Internet Access with Network Edge now supports dual connections. For more information, see Internet Connection with Network Edge Virtual Devices.
Internet Access with Network Edge for Resellers and Their Sub-customers
With this release, registered Equinix resellers can order Internet Access with Network Edge virtual connections for themselves or their sub-customers. Resellers can also view or delete these connections, and can enable their sub-customers for self-service.
In turn, sub-account users can view, order, and delete their own Internet Access services in the Equinix Customer portal. See Solutions Providers (Resellers) for more details and helpful links.
Internet Access with Fabric Supports More U.S. and APAC Locations
More metros now provide Internet Access with Fabric services. Additions in the U.S.:
- Culpepper, in Washington, D.C.
- Dallas, Texas
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Now available in APAC:
- Johor and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia
- Seoul, South Korea
- Tokyo, Japan

With this release, Equinix Internet Access supports the convenient use of Purchase Orders to simplify the ordering process with Network Edge virtual connections.
Purchase Orders Now Supported for Internet Access with Network Edge
Purchase Orders (POs) can now be used to order Internet Access over Network Edge virtual devices. Customers with billing accounts can choose to use an active PO during the online ordering process. As with ordering a dedicated Internet Access port, using a PO is optional, unless the order is placed with a PO bearing billing account (which requires the use of a PO). For more details about using a PO to order Internet Access with Network Edge, see Internet Connection with Network Edge Virtual Devices.
Equinix Internet Access 2024.04
Equinix Internet Access 2024.04 is available April, 2024.
Now, Equinix Internet Access can be ordered using global billing for convenient connections to virtual devices through Network Edge, and for Internet Access with Fabric.
Internet Connection Orders with Global Billing Accounts
Internet Access connections can now be ordered through Equinix global billing. Users with an Equinix global billing account can purchase Internet Access connections across multiple countries with a single currency. This simplifies the billing process for international deployments.
The global billing option is available when ordering Internet Access with Network Edge virtual devices, and with Fabric connections. Equinix Internet Access 2024.03
Equinix Internet Access 2024.03 is available March, 2024.
With this release, Equinix Internet Access now includes support for single connections to virtual devices through Network Edge.
Internet Connection Through Network Edge Devices
Network Edge users can now order Internet Access connections to their virtual devices using Equinix-assigned or customer-provided IP subnet addresses. Within a few minutes, users can set up and configure a new single-connection Internet Access service. Single, redundant, and cluster configurations are currently supported.
Equinix Internet Access 2024.02
Equinix Internet Access 2024.02 is available February, 2024.
Equinix continues to add features that enhance Internet Access with Fabric, including support for user-supplied IP addresses and billing accounts that require signatures, and the availability of additional metros.
Customers Can Use Their Own IP Subnets for Internet Access with Fabric
Customers can provide their own IP addresses for Internet Access with Fabric services. When ordering through the Customer portal, the new option for Customer-provided IP Addresses enables users to specify their own LAN subnet addresses for IPv4 (minimum /24) and IPv6 (minimum /48).
Signature-required Accounts Supported for Internet Access with Fabric
Billing accounts that require signatures can now be used to order Internet Access services through the Customer portal. The previous restriction has been removed.
Metro Expansions
With this release, our service expands again in the APAC and AMER regions. Internet Access with Fabric is now available in Tokyo, Japan, and in the U.S. in Houston, Texas.
