Equinix Internet Access Release Notes
Equinix Internet Access provides internet access in our Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers.
Release Date:
Equinix Internet Access 2026.01
Equinix Internet Access 2026.01 is available May 2026.
IP Blocks
With this release, Equinix introduces IP Blocks as a standalone, service-independent resource for managing public IP addressing. With this update, you can purchase Equinix-assigned IP blocks or bring your own address space and manage them independently of Internet Access services. IP Blocks can now be attached, detached, or reassigned across supported services without requiring service deletion or IP renumbering, giving you greater flexibility when scaling, migrating, or redesigning your network.
This enhancement also introduces a centralized IP Blocks inventory for tracking and lifecycle management, while enabling continuity of IP addressing across deployments and metros. Importantly, IP Blocks are no longer automatically deleted when an Internet Access service is terminated. They remain available for reuse and must be managed separately. This change reduces operational risk, simplifies migrations, and provides a more consistent, reusable IP management experience across Equinix interconnection services.
