Equinix Fabric Layer 3 – Google Carrier Peering
Google Carrier Peering Layer 3 services on Equinix Fabric will reach end of life on 15 December 2025. These services are no longer available for purchase as of 15 March 2025.
After this date, Fabric Layer 3 subscriptions, routing instances, and connectors used for Google Carrier Peering will no longer operate. Customers must explore alternative connectivity options before 15 December 2025, such as Google’s Verified Peering Provider program or Equinix Internet Access.

Equinix Fabric Layer 3 – Five9
Five9 Layer 3 services on Equinix Fabric will be discontinued on 15 December 2025.
After this date, Fabric Layer 3 subscriptions, routing instances, and connectors used for Five9 will no longer operate. Customers are encouraged to transition to the Five9 Layer 2 service, which is available on Equinix Fabric as a replacement.

After 15 December 2025, these DNS services will no longer operate. Reverse lookup services for IP addresses used with Equinix Internet Access (Equinix Connect) will continue to be provided for addresses assigned by the Japan Network Information Center (JPNIC).
Customers requiring forward lookup DNS services must migrate to another provider before 15 December 2025.

Inactive Fabric Layer 3 Services
Beginning 2 December 2024, Equinix will deprovision inactive and deprecated Equinix Fabric Layer 3 services. These services have been inactive or deprecated by the service owner for six months or longer.

Cross Connect Copper and Multi-mode Fiber
As of 31 March 2024, all new Cross Connects globally are provisioned using Single-Mode Fiber (SMF). Copper (including POTS, UTP, COAX, Cat5, and Cat6) and Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF) are no longer available as media options for new Cross Connects in any IBX® data center.
