Global Security Services (Japan, Managed Solutions)

Effective 31 March 2027, the following Global Managed Security Services will be discontinued in Japan:

  • Security Monitoring Service
  • Vulnerability Assessment Service

After this date, these services will no longer be available or supported. Equinix account teams will proactively engage affected customers to support transition planning.

Service Level Manager (Brazil, Managed Solutions)

The Service Level Manager (SLM) offering will be discontinued for customers in Brazil in 2026. Applicable end-of-life dates are communicated directly to affected customers. After the communicated EOL date, the SLM service will no longer be available or supported.

  • End of Life: Timelines may vary by customer. Applicable dates are communicated directly to customers.

Site Care monitoring services (Japan, Managed Solutions)

Effective 31 March 2026, the following Site Care monitoring services will be discontinued in Japan:

  • Site Care Cloud
  • Site Care Smart
  • Site Care PRO

After this date, these services will no longer be available or supported. Customers are encouraged to transition to Managed Monitoring, which replaces the Site Care services listed above and provides ongoing monitoring capabilities.

Managed Cloud N-Series (Japan, Managed Solutions)

Managed Cloud N-Series will be discontinued in Japan effective 31 March 2026.

Customers may migrate to Managed Private Cloud (MPC), Equinix’s Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform, or transfer their service to Fujitsu Ltd. to continue using Managed Cloud N-Series. After 31 March 2026, Managed Cloud N-Series will no longer be available or supported by Equinix.

Equinix Fabric Layer 3 – Salesforce Express Connect

The Salesforce Express Connect Layer 3 service on Equinix Fabric® will be discontinued on 15 June 2026.

After this date, Fabric Layer 3 subscriptions, routing instances, and connectors used for Salesforce Express Connect will no longer operate.

Customers should implement an alternative connectivity solution before 15 June 2026. For example, customers may connect to Amazon Web Services (AWS) over Equinix Fabric and peer with Amazon’s public Virtual Interface (VIF) to receive Salesforce prefixes.

Equinix Ethernet Exchange

Effective June 22, 2025, Equinix is discontinuing Equinix Ethernet Exchange on January 31, 2026.

  • Initial Announcement: 22 June 2025
  • End of Life: 31 January 2026
  • End of Support: 31 January 2026

Equinix Fabric offers three different options to replace your existing Equinix Ethernet Exchange connections.

Ethernet solutions:

  • Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL)
  • Ethernet Private Line (EPL)
  • Access EPL

EVPL services are recommended for most customers due to their flexibility and scalability. If you have specific requirements such as MACsec transparency, EPL may be more appropriate for your needs.

We strongly recommend ordering your replacement service as soon as possible to avoid potential service disruptions.

Equinix Metal

Effective November 7th, 2024 Equinix is discontinuing Equinix Metal on June 30th, 2026.

  • Initial Announcement: 07 November 2024
  • End of Life: 30 June 2026
  • End of Support: 30 June 2026

If you are under contract, you have the option to continue on Metal month-to-month once your contract ends until the End of Life date. For existing on-demand customers, you can continue using Metal until further notice.

Equinix is ensuring the continued performance, security, and stability of the Metal product until it is sunset, and are committed to working with you over the coming months to find an alternative solution, whether at Equinix with colocation or managed services or via third-party options.

Equinix Connect

Effective July 31st, 2024 Equinix is discontinuing Equinix Connect on November 20th, 2026.

  • Initial Announcement: 31 July 2024
  • End of Life: 20 November 2026
  • End of Support: 20 November 2026

The end of life for Equinix Connect includes:

  • 100M ports
  • Copper media type
  • Multi-mode fiber (MMF) media type

The sale of Equinix Connect 100M ports, copper, and multi-mode fiber ended on December 31, 2021, and these interfaces are now approaching the end of their lifecycle. After November 20, 2026, Equinix will terminate all Equinix Connect services and remove the associated equipment.

Equinix Internet Access is replacing Equinix Connect ensuring the continued delivery of reliable and scalable internet services on a modern platform that offers enhanced features, expanded capacity, and improved stability.
