This section provides version-specific updates, including new feature rollouts, enhancements, resolved issues, and deprecations. Each release note includes relevant API changes, platform updates, and configuration details to support product usage.

Equinix Fabric

The Fabric 2026.3 release, available in June, includes the following improvements:

  • Enhanced network transparency with Fabric Network Map improvements, including subsea cable visibility and ML-driven latency insights, enabling better routing decisions.
  • Improved Marketplace discovery for last-mile connectivity providers, providing clearer insight into service options and capabilities.
  • Simplified and more accurate port ordering with upfront configuration (TPID selection) and real-time LOA validation, reducing provisioning errors.
  • Expanded observability and operational insights with centralized event visibility and flexible alert tuning, accelerating troubleshooting and improving responsiveness.

Equinix Fabric APIs

The Equinix Fabric R2024.4 release, available in August, includes the following improvements:

  • Adds two new fields inboundMED and outboundMED to Routing Protocols APIs to influence the routing decisions of neighboring Autonomous Systems (AS).
  • Enables a new type CONNECTION_PROVIDER_BANDWIDTH_REQUEST to Manage Connection API to allow users to fetch the latest bandwidth from the provider.
  • Adds a new field asOverrideEnabled to Routing Protocols APIs to help users define the optional AS override policy (defaults to false/off). The policy is applied to one or more IPv4 and/or IPv6 peering sessions as an outbound route map.
  • Adds a new use case: Connect Fabric Cloud Router to Amazon Web Services.
  • Adds a new use case: Migrate Connection to a Different Virtual Device.

Equinix Fabric Cloud Router

The Fabric Cloud Router 2026.3 release, available in June, includes the following improvements:

  • Route aggregation support for IP-WAN connections reduces routing complexity and improves efficiency by advertising summarized routes instead of individual prefixes.
  • Expanded 50 Gbps and 100 Gbps IP-WAN connectivity enables higher throughput for bandwidth-intensive and large-scale network architectures.

Network Edge

The Network Edge 2026.6 release, available in June, includes the following improvements:

  • A new Network Edge dashboard.
  • The addition of Arista Velocloud SD-WAN version 6.1.2.
  • The ability to deploy Palo Alto VM-Series Firewalls without a public IP address.

Network Edge APIs

The Network Edge R2024.4 release, available in August, includes the following improvement:

  • Adds two new fields panoramaIpAddress and panoramaAuthKey to the Create Device and Get Device APIs to allow Panorama integration of Palo Alto devices with Internet Access.

Internet Access

The Equinix Internet Access August 2025 release, includes the following improvement:

  • Mixed IP Addressing - Internet Access now supports using provider assigned (PA) and provider independent (PI) IP addresses for the same service.

Smart View

The Smart View 2024.2 release, available in June, includes the following improvements:

  • Adds new Custom Alerts 2.0 functionality.
  • The Smart View Custom Alerts feature has been revised.
  • Mechanical and Electrical alerts are no longer included in Custom Alerts. System Alerts should be used instead.
  • The user interface for defining Custom Alerts has been updated.
  • The Heartbeat functionality and acknowledging Custom Alerts are no longer available.

Customer Portal

The Equinix Customer Portal 2025.1 release, available in August/September 2025, includes the following updates:

  • Customers can now subscribe to API permissions for DCIM data through the Subscriptions API under Enhanced Permissions.
  • The User Details Report now reflects users assigned with DCIM permissions.
  • A new Colo product has been added to the Install Base Report, for inclusion in inventory views.
  • The Custom Cable Connection product is now available in Inventory with full details accessible for viewing..

Smart Hands

The Smart Hands 2025.3 release, available in September 2025, includes the following updates:

  • SHRED Real-Time Order Estimates now display instant pricing within the order interface.
