This section provides easy access to information on the latest features and releases of the Equinix family of products. As a valued customer, we are excited to share with you the latest updates and enhancements to our platform.

More details for each of the products listed below can be found in that product's Release Notes, which can be accessed via the links provided. The Release Notes contain detailed information about the latest features, improvements, fixes, and other updates that have been implemented in our products and services.

Equinix Fabric

The Equinix Fabric 2025.3 release, available in June, introduces several enhancements to improve user experience and operational efficiency including:

  • Virtual Connections from Fabric Cloud Router to Microsoft Azure GovCloud, as well as a new Basic Package that supports smaller FCR workloads.

  • Faster service turn-up for Fabric with Auto Reservation and Auto Provisioning for remote ports based on customer uploaded LOA.

  • Introducing the updated Fabric Port Inventory with an improved interface, advanced search capabilities, and CSV export functionality.

  • E-Tree and E-Tree Service Tokens: Create a rooted multipoint (hub-and-spoke) network on Equinix Fabric or create and issue a service token to another Equinix Fabric customer.

  • New term-based pricing options for FCR.

  • Additional capabilities and sink types for Fabric Observability, along with a brand new user interface.

Equinix Fabric APIs

The Equinix Fabric R2024.4 release, available in August, includes the following improvements:

  • Adds two new fields inboundMED and outboundMED to Routing Protocols APIs to influence the routing decisions of neighboring Autonomous Systems (AS).

  • Enables a new type CONNECTION_PROVIDER_BANDWIDTH_REQUEST to Manage Connection API to allow users to fetch the latest bandwidth from the provider.

  • Adds a new field asOverrideEnabled to Routing Protocols APIs to help users define the optional AS override policy (defaults to false/off). The policy is applied to one or more IPv4 and/or IPv6 peering sessions as an outbound route map.

  • Adds a new use case: Connect Fabric Cloud Router to Amazon Web Services.

  • Adds a new use case: Migrate Connection to a Different Virtual Device.

Equinix Fabric Cloud Router

The Fabric Cloud Router 2025.3 release, available in June, includes the following improvements:

  • Support for Virtual Connections from Fabric Cloud Router to Microsoft Azure GovCloud.

  • Run a Traceroute from FCR towards a destination IP that the user provides.

  • A new Basic Package that supports smaller FCR workloads.

  • FCR now supports the ability to be ordered as Month to Month or on 12-, 24-, or 36-month terms.

Network Edge

The Network Edge 2024.10 release, available in October, includes the following improvement:

  • Aviatrix Transit Edge is available in the Equinix Marketplace as of October 2024.

  • Users can opt out of auto-renewal for their Network Edge devices.

  • Z-side tokens can now be created so that your customers can connect to your devices.

Network Edge APIs

The Network Edge R2024.4 release, available in August, includes the following improvement:

  • Adds two new fields panoramaIpAddress and panoramaAuthKey to the Create Device and Get Device APIs to allow Panorama integration of Palo Alto devices with Internet Access.

Internet Access

The Equinix Internet Access 2024.09 release, available in October, includes the following improvement:

  • Eases the configuration design process by enabling users to drag and drop connections to components (like ports, service profiles, virtual devices, and IP-WAN networks) into diagrams, then downloading them with cost estimates based on bandwidth commit and metro location.

Smart View

The Smart View 2024.2 release, available in June, includes the following improvements:

  • Adds new Custom Alerts 2.0 functionality.

  • The Smart View Custom Alerts feature has been revised.

  • Mechanical and Electrical alerts are no longer included in Custom Alerts. System Alerts should be used instead.

  • The user interface for defining Custom Alerts has been updated.

  • The Heartbeat functionality and acknowledging Custom Alerts are no longer available.

Customer Portal

The Equinix Customer Portal 2024.3 release, available in June, includes the following improvement:

  • Enhancements to Orders and Tickets History. Specifically, for Scheduled Smart Hands requests, a clear and prominent response deadline now appears within your order details.
