How to Request a Last Mile Quote

Connect a customer site to an Equinix data center through Fabric Marketplace

Choose the path that best fits your needs: go directly to a provider you already know, or compare all available providers in a specific Equinix metro.

Request a Quote from a Specific Provider

Use this path if you already know which last mile provider you want to work with.

1. Sign in to the Customer Portal and navigate to the Fabric Marketplace.

2. Click Last Mile to filter the list of service providers, or search for the specific provider using the Search by provider name field.

3. On the service provider's card, click Connect.

   

4. Locate the provider's Last Mile service profile and click Connect.

Compare Providers in an Equinix Metro

Use this path if you want to see which providers serve a particular Equinix metro.

1. Sign in to the Customer Portal and navigate to the Fabric Marketplace.

2. In the Fabric Last-Mile card, click Explore Providers.

   

3. Enter the Equinix metro where you need connectivity. Select the provider from which you would like to request a quote.

   

4. Click Next to continue with the steps for Requesting Your Quote.

Aggregator Partners

You may also see one or more aggregator partners in the results. Aggregators provide quoting and ordering capabilities across most Equinix Fabric metros and can be accessed directly through the portal. Select an aggregator if you would like to request a quote and, where supported, place an order through its service.

Requesting Your Quote

Once you have selected the Last Mile service provider you are interested in:

1. Click Enter Site Address.

2. Enter the complete address where you need last-mile connectivity. Addresses are validated when you click Submit and before you can proceed.

   

3. If a matching address is found, provide the additional service details: service type, bandwidth, and connection type.

   If you need to assign a technical contact for this quote, click Change Technical Contact and enter their email address.

   For the requested circuit, pricing will appear immediately in the Pricing panel when the provider is integrated with Equinix through APIs, as Colt is in this example.

4. Review the information and click Next.

5. The Configure Your Equinix Connection page offers the following options: Get a Quote or Create a Connection. Click Get a Quote.

   

   Equinix will send the request to the provider. A member of the provider's team will contact you directly to confirm availability, pricing, ordering requirements, and next steps. If you request a quote without configuring the Fabric connection, you can return to the Fabric portal and create the connection after the provider has provisioned your last-mile circuit.

   Clicking Create a Connection configures the Fabric connection to the provider now. If you later order the last-mile service, the Fabric connection can be automatically provisioned when the provider confirms that the circuit is ready.

6. Review the information and click Request Quote.
