Insights Dashboard
Use the Insights Dashboard to view events and alerts across your infrastructure from a single location. The dashboard provides a centralized experience to monitor recent activity, review alert severity distribution, investigate events and alerts, and filter insights across selected projects and organizations.
Prerequisites
To access the Insights Dashboard, you must have the required permissions for the selected project or organization. You must have either the Project Admin role or the Organization Admin role.
Access to events and alerts is based on the existing Fabric permission model. Users can only view insights for projects and organizations they are authorized to access.
Accessing the Insights Dashboard
- Sign in to the Customer Portal.
- Go to the Fabric Dashboard.
- From the Observability menu, select Insights Dashboard.

Or from the left navigation, select Observability.

The Insights Dashboard opens with the following tabs:

Select Projects and Organizations
The Fabric Insights Dashboard includes a dedicated project and organization selector. Use this selector to filter the dashboard by one or more projects or organizations.
- Click Filter by projects or organizations.

- In the Select projects dialog box, search for an organization or project name.
- Select one or more organizations or projects.
- Click Apply.

After applying the selection, the dashboard updates to show insights for the selected projects and organizations.
Overview Tab
Use the Overview tab to get a high-level summary of Fabric events and alerts.

Your Hub
The Your Hub section provides a summary of event and alert activity for the selected time range. It includes:
-
Events - The Events card shows the total number of events for the selected time range.
-
Total Alert Distribution - The Total Alert Distribution chart shows the overall event volume and alert severity distribution across the selected projects or organizations. Alerts are grouped by severity:
- Critical
- Warning
- Error
-
Date Range Selector - Use the Date Range Selector to update the Events card and Total Alert Distribution chart. The following date range options are available:
- Past 24 Hours
- Past 48 Hours
- Past 72 Hours
- Past 90 Days
- Custom Date - View data for a custom date range within the last 90 days.

Active Alerts
Active Alerts replaces the former Recent Alerts section. Recent Alerts showed alert events from the last 7 days. Active Alerts shows only alerts that are active now.
The Active Alerts section provides a preview of current alert activity without opening the full Alerts tab, displaying up to 50 active alerts. Resolved alerts do not appear. To view additional alerts, click the Alerts tab, or click View All Alerts.
Active Alerts includes alerts of all severities. You can filter the list by severity:
- All
- Critical
- Warning
- Error
- Fatal

Recent Events
The Recent Events section provides a preview of the latest non-alert events across different resource types. By default, it shows recent events from the last 7 days. Users can filter recent events by event or resource type, including:
- All
- Audit
- Port
- Connection
- Cloud Router
- Network
- Network Edge
- Internet Access
The Audit filter includes audit-related activity such as login and logout events.

Events Tab
The Events tab provides a searchable and filterable table of Fabric events across selected projects and organizations. By default, the Events tab shows event data from the last 7 days. Use the Date Range filter to select a custom date range up to the last 90 days.
The Events table includes event details such as:
- Event Message
- Severity
- Resource Type
- Resource Name
- Subject
- Date and Time

You can search events by subject and apply filters to narrow down results. For example, to search for events related to a specific Fabric port, enter a subject path in the following format: /fabric/v4/ports/{portId} where the portId is the UUID of the port, /fabric/v4/ports/f14420a5-45e9-4b4f-b3c9-034609c7a191.
To filter the table, click Filters. Supported filters include:
- Severity: Multi-select support for Critical, Error, Info, and Warning.
- Resource Type: Audit, Cloud Router, Connection, Internet Access, Network, Network Edge, Port, Precision Time, and Service Token.
- Date Range
Alerts Tab
Use the Alerts tab to review alert history, alert state, and severity across selected projects and organizations. The Alerts tab provides a searchable, filterable table of alerts.
The Alerts table includes the following details:
- Alert Description
- Severity
- Alert State
- Alert Type
- Subject
- Resource Type
- Date and Time
By default, the Alerts tab shows alert data from the last 7 days. Use the Date Range filter to select a custom range of up to the last 90 days.

Toggle Active Alerts
Use the Show all active alerts only toggle to see the latest information for alerts that are currently active.

Filters
Select Filters to select a severity level, resource type, or a custom date range. Depending on the view selected, the following filters are available:
- Severity - Multi-select support to filter for Critical, Error, Fatal, Info, and Warning severities.
- Resource Type - ASN, Cloud Router, Connection, Internet Access, Metro, Network, Network Edge, Port, Precision Time, and Service Token.
- Alert State - Multi-select support for Cleared and Raised.
- Date Range
Active Alerts always have a status of Raised, so the Alert State filter is not available in that view. Info alerts are also excluded from the Active Alerts view.
Search
You can search alerts by subject. For example, to find alerts for a specific Fabric port, enter a subject path in the following format: /fabric/v4/ports/{portId} where portId is the UUID of the port.
Example: /fabric/v4/ports/f14420a5-45e9-4b4f-b3c9-034609c7a191

Metrics Tab
Use the Metrics tab to monitor Fabric port and connection performance across your selected projects. Compare bandwidth usage, packet drops, and packet errors for individual resources.

Filters and Search
By default, the Metrics tab displays data from the past 24 hours. Use the Date Range filter to select a preset range (Past 24 Hours, Past 48 Hours, Past 72 Hours, or Past 90 Days) or a custom range within the last 90 days (Longer ranges show data at a lower level of detail).
To display the Metrics for a specific resource, use the search field to search by resource name or UUID.
To filter by resource type, select either Port or Connection from the drop-down.
-
Port (default) - Displays metrics for active ports. Select a metric to view from the drop-down. Select Usage to monitor bandwidth consumption over time. Use Packet Drop and Packet Error to identify potential performance issues.
-
Connection - Displays metrics for active connections. Select a metric to view from the drop-down. Select Usage to monitor bandwidth consumption over time. Use Packet Drop to identify potential performance issues.
Packet Error is available only for ports. If you switch from Port to Connection while Packet Error is selected, the metric changes to Usage.
Metric Charts
A chart is displayed for each resource. Each chart includes:
- Resource Name - Select to open the port or connection details page.
- Metric Label - Indicates the metric being displayed, such as Port Bandwidth Usage or Connection Packets Dropped.
- Legend
- Port metrics and Connection Usage - Inbound and Outbound.
- Connection Packet Drop - A-Side Inbound, Z-Side Inbound, A-Side Outbound, and Z-Side Outbound.
- Values - Usage is shown in bits per second (bps, Kbps, Mbps, Gbps). Packet drops and errors are shown as counts. Hover over the chart to view exact values at a specific point in time.
If a resource has no data for the selected range, its chart shows “No metrics for this period.”
Each page displays up to six charts. Use the pagination controls to view additional resources.
Refreshing Dashboard Data
Click Refresh to reload the latest available data for the active tab. Each tab displays a Last Updated timestamp to show when the data was last refreshed.
