Equinix Metal

warning

Equinix has stopped the commercial sale of Equinix Metal and the service will be sunset on June 30, 2026. Any servers that remain provisioned after the sunset will be permanently deleted.

Sunsetting Equinix Metal

The Equinix Metal service will be sunset on June 30, 2026. We are committed to working with you over the coming months to support your transition to an alternative solution—whether within Equinix (colocation or managed services) or via a third-party provider.

While no new features will be developed, we will continue to operate Metal internally and ensure its performance, security, and stability through the sunset period.

If you have questions, contact your account team or email support@equinixmetal.com.

Action Required by June 30, 2026

To avoid service disruption, data loss, or unexpected charges, customers must complete the following actions before June 30, 2026.

  • Plan Your Migration - Contact your Account Executive or complete the migration survey in the Metal Console so we can provide appropriate transition support. For assistance identifying a replacement solution that meets your needs, email support@equinixmetal.com.

  • Migrate Workloads - Migrate all Metal workloads and data to another Equinix solution or a third‑party service provider by June 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM PDT. This is the final date for accessing your Equinix Metal instances.

  • Backup and Wipe Data - Before deleting any server, it is strongly recommended that you back up and delete all data stored on the instance.

  • Delete Associated Resources - As you transition away from Metal, ensure that all associated resources are deleted, including:

    • IP addresses
    • VLANs and VRFs
    • Fabric Virtual Connections
    • Dedicated Ports

Failure to delete these resources will result in continued charges, even after all servers have been terminated.

  • Cancel Reserved Servers - Terminate any reserved servers at the end of the current contractual period or any subsequent monthly renewal by contacting support@equinixmetal.com. Please provide at least 7 days’ advance notice to stop renewal billing.

Contract Renewals

At the end of your current term, Metal server reservations transition to month‑to‑month billing at your existing rate and will continue until canceled or until the final sunset on June 30, 2026—whichever comes first. Contracted customers may terminate at the end of the current term or any monthly renewal period. See Transitioning Equinix Metal®: Flexible options and continued support for details.
