Infoblox NIOS-X

Infoblox NIOS-X virtual servers on Equinix Network Edge connect local networks to Infoblox Universal DDI and Infoblox Threat Defense cloud services. You can deploy NIOS-X virtual servers from the Equinix Portal.

Licensing

Bring Your Own License (BYOL) products require a valid license. You are responsible for purchasing and managing your own licenses from Infoblox. To purchase a software license, contact your Infoblox sales representative or partners.

Creating an Infoblox NIOS DDI

When creating a NIOS DDI, consider the following:

  • Infoblox NIOS DDI on Network Edge supports both Grid Manager and Grid Member roles.

  • The Initial password used for console access provided by the user in the provisioning workflow is not encrypted. Once the Grid member registers to the Grid Manager, the original unencrypted password will be overwritten by an encrypted password configured on the Grid Manager.

Connectivity Options

The default connectivity option for the device is Without Equinix Public IP Address. The option to have a VNF come up without a public IP address addresses the use case where the virtual device may need to be isolated from the Internet. You can then manage the devices from their private network or virtual connection.

No Global IP Address is assigned to the VNF. Once the NIOS VNF is provisioned, the local IP address needs to be assigned to either LAN1 or MGMT interfaces to connect to the Grid Manager for registration.
