Manage Bandwidth
The bandwidth commit on your active Internet Access service can be changed. Changes may be made if:
- The original estimation was incorrect and you need to make a change.
- The estimation was correct, but your traffic demands have changed.
Increasing or decreasing the bandwidth commit on the existing service does not introduce service disruption and does not require terminating the service.
Prerequisites
To change bandwidth on the existing Internet Access service:
-
Your organization must be onboarded to an Equinix CRH/AM Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform. For more information, see About Identity and Access Management.
-
The Fabric Manager role must be assigned to the account used to send API requests. Or, this role must be able to process requests through the Fabric portal.
-
The Internet Access service currently exists and is not deleted or in the process of being deleted or in the process of another bandwidth change.
-
The Internet Access service is being provided to a Fabric port or Network Edge virtual device. Service over a Dedicated Port can not be modified from the Customer Portal.

-
In the New Bandwidth drop-down, select a bandwidth. The new Monthly Charge displays and will apply once the change is executed.
-
In the Purchase Order drop-down, select the purchase order tied to the account.
noteThe Purchase Order selection is required if your account is PO bearing. If not, this step is optional.
-
Click Confirm.
