Redeeming an A-Side Token
An A-side service token can be used to create a virtual connection to a service provider, another Equinix Fabric customer, or your own existing port.
Prerequisites
Before creating a connection to a service provider or another Fabric customer using an A-side service token, you must have:
- An account with the service provider you want to connect to.
- An Equinix Fabric account, with the following IAM roles assigned: Fabric Connections Manager.
- An A-side service token.
Before creating a connection your own ports using an A-side service token, you must have:
- An Equinix Fabric account, with the following IAM roles assigned: Fabric Connections Manager.
- An A-side service token.
- A Fabric port in the location where you want to connect to.
Creating a Connection
To create a connection using an A-side service token:

Log in to the Customer Portal > Fabric Dashboard.

From the Connections menu, select Create a Connection.
Selecting the Destination

Locate the service provider or other Equinix Fabric customer that you want to connect to, click Select Service, and then click Create Connection.

Locate and select the My Own Assets card, and click Connect to My Own Assets.
On the Connect My Assets as E-line card, click Create Connection.
On the Select Locations page:

In the Connect Using section, click Service Token.

Enter your A-side service token. The service token provides the Origin information.

In the Destination section, your destination options are filtered based on the A-side service token.

If connecting to a service provider or other Fabric customer, select a location where you want to terminate your connection. Click Next.

If connecting to your own assets, in the Connect To section, click Port. Select a destination Metro, choose the port, and then click Next.

Connection Details
On the Connection Details page:

In the Connection Information section, enter a connection name. Note the tag information provided, and use the appropriate VLAN ID in the Destination Tags or Seller Tag fields.

(Optional) Enter the purchase order number.

(Optional ) If you are connecting to a service provider or other Fabric customer, provide any provider-specific configuration parameters. For more information on what these parameters are for each service provider, see the Connecting to a Service Provider documentation.

Select a Connection Speed.
noteConnection speed options are pre-defined by the service token. The selected speed cannot be modified after provisioning.

Click Next.
Review and Submit Your Order
Review the Connection Summary and Pricing Overview, add an optional additional email address for Notifications, then click Submit Order.
Navigate to Connections Inventory to monitor your connection's status.
