Managed Private Hardware
Managed Private Hardware is a managed infrastructure service from Equinix that provides dedicated physical infrastructure as a service. The service removes hardware acquisition and lifecycle management tasks, allowing customers to focus on core business functions while Equinix manages hardware-related activities.
Managed Private Hardware provides dedicated physical hardware hosted in Equinix IBX data centers. Customers have exclusive use of the hardware, while Equinix manages the hardware lifecycle, including vendor negotiation, procurement, logistics, installation, maintenance, support, and end-of-life (EOL) management.
Managed Private Hardware services are suitable for customers that require scalable physical infrastructure integrated with the Equinix platform and Managed Solutions, without CAPEX investment or in-house hardware management. This enables predictable costs, global consistency, and governance.

Portfolio Equinix: Hardware provisioning where the customer defines required configurations, and Equinix selects the manufacturer and model that meet those requirements.
Custom Certified: Provisioning from a catalog of Equinix-certified manufacturers and models. Customers choose a vendor and model from approved options in the Equinix portfolio.
Custom Extended: Fully customized provisioning where customers define specific manufacturers and models, including equipment not in the Equinix certified catalog.
Service Scope and Responsibilities
Managed Private Hardware covers the physical infrastructure and its lifecycle only. Equinix is not responsible for the configuration, operation, or administration of operating systems, software, or applications, unless such responsibilities are explicitly included through additional services such as Enablement Services, Digital Infrastructure Management (DIM), or other Equinix Managed Solutions.
