Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage On-Demand

Use Equinix Fabric and Wasabi Direct Connect to connect your physical or virtual infrastructure to your Wasabi network. Wasabi On Demand Storage-as-a-Service can be reached from Equinix Fabric locally in several metros and remotely from any Equinix Fabric location.

Notas

The Wasabi Direct Connect process is not fully automated. You must contact Wasabi to provision a virtual circuit for you to connect to and the Wasabi team manually reviews your connection request.

Prerequisites

• A Fabric port, an A-side service token, a Fabric Cloud Router, or a Network Edge virtual device.
• In order to create connections in Fabric, you must have the Fabric Connections Manager role.
• A Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage account and Wasabi Direct Connect.

Provisioning a Virtual Circuit to Wasabi Storage Region

Contact your Wasabi Account Manager or email sales@wasabi.com to order an Equinix Fabric Virtual Cross Connect (VXC) circuit. Make sure to include the following information:

• A Wasabi Account ID.
• An AWS Account ID (for AWS DX circuits only).
• Your Wasabi Data Center location.
• The Service Rate in 1 Gbps increments.
• Your layer 3 routing requirements. You can choose to create a NAT interface for the A-side or use BGP routing. In case of the latter, include the ASN and Public Prefix to advertise to Wasabi. Private Prefixes require further discussion. Wasabi provides the point-to-point IP assignment with a /31 prefix. Request /30 if required, along with any additional requirements.

In response to your request, you will receive a circuit identifier (example: DEVOPS-1234). This identifier is required to create an Equinix Fabric connection.

Creating the Connection

To create a Fabric connection to Wasabi:

1. Sign in to the Customer Portal and navigate to the Interconnection Dashboard.

2. In the Ways to Connect section, click Connect to a Provider.

   

3. On the Create a Connection page, click A Service Provider. Search for "Wasabi". On the Wasabi Technologies, Inc. card, click Select Service.

   

4. On the Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage Direct Connect card, click Create Connection. If you are connecting from a Network Edge virtual device, click Create Connection (Network Edge Device) and see creating a connection from Network Edge.

   

5. Enter the Wasabi information for the destination of the connection.

   • The Connection Type defaults to Primary.
   • Select the Wasabi location you are connecting to from the Destination drop-down menu.

   

   Click Next.

6. Configure your connection.

   • For Origin Asset Type, select whether you are connecting from a port, cloud router, or using a service token. Then select the specific port or cloud router to use. If you are using a service token, enter it into the field.
   • Give your connection a name.

   

   • (Optional) If your origin and destination are in the same country or region, choose whether to use Geo Zones.
   • Enter a VLAN ID. If you're using a QINQ port, enter a Customer VLAN Tag (C-tag) and a Service VLAN Tag (S-tag).
   • Choose the connection bandwidth.
   • (Optional) If your origin and destination are in different metros, choose the connection's Term Length.

   

   Click Next

7. Add your Wasabi circuit identifier and review your order.

   • In the Purchase Order Number field, enter the circuit identifier you received from Wasabi. This step is required. The circuit identifier is what the Wasabi operations team uses to ensure the connection is to your account and infrastructure.

   

   • Review the information in the Destination and Connection Configuration sections.
   • Use the Notifications field to provide the email addresses of the recipients to be notified about the connection's status. You can add up to 12 email addresses.
   • (Optional) Provide a customer reference identifier that will help you identify this order on your invoice.

   When you are ready, click Create Connection.

Once you have submitted your virtual connection order, Equinix will send a notification the Wasabi operations team. Typical turnaround for order approval is less than one week.

Creating a Connection from Network Edge

1. Select the locations and virtual device to use for the connection.

   • In the Origin section, choose to connect using a Virtual Device. Then select the location, device type, connection type, and finally the specific device(s) to use for the connection.
   • In the Destination section, choose the Wasabi location you are connecting to.

   

   Click Next.

2. Configure your connection details.

   • Give your connection(s) a name.
   • Select whether to automatically select the next available interface on the device for this connection or manually choose the interface.
   • Required. Enter the circuit identifier you received from Wasabi in the Purchase Order Number field. The circuit identifier is what the Wasabi operations team uses to ensure the connection is to your account and infrastructure.

   

   • Choose the connection(s) speed.
   • (Optional) If your origin and destination are in different metros, choose the connection's Term Length.

   

   Click Next.

3. Review and Submit.

   • Review the information in the Connection Summary.
   • Use the Notifications field to provide the email addresses of the recipients to be notified about the connection's status. You can add up to 12 email addresses.

   

   When you are ready, click Submit Order.

Once you have submitted your virtual connection order, Equinix will send a notification the Wasabi operations team. Typical turnaround for order approval is less than one week.

Monitoring Connection Status

Once you have created the connection, it appears in your Connections Inventory where you can monitor its status. The connection status remains Pending Approval until Wasabi approves the request.
