Equinix Explorer
The Equinix Explorer app displays interconnection information for Equinix Metros and IBX data centers, as well as identifying the available physical or virtual connections between locations.
Intended users of the app are buyers, sellers, and Equinix internal users. Information includes data sheets, maps, and topologies for IBX data centers and interconnections. Filter by IBX or connection type, draw on the maps and add visual elements, then download the report for later use.
To access Equinix Explorer, go to Search Tools > Equinix Explorer.
Equinix Explorer has three main components.
EquinixMetros
The Equinix Metros section offers a regional list of data center locations. The left pane displays the number of connections by type, an Equinix Product Availability chart for each IBX data center, and details on each IBX. The right pane has options to display an interactive color map with the IBX data centers and connections or a topology of the connections. You can add location icons for HQ, office and data centers, as well as draw on the map as needed. Click Download Report to download a copy of the map and report.
IBX Connection Check
Use IBX Connection Check to see available physical and virtual connections between data centers. Enter the IBX identifier to view origin and destination IBXs. (Hover over a red location icon on the map to see the data center identifier.) The left pane displays the physical connections with speed, as well as the virtual connections with links to additional details. The right pane displays an interactive color map with the IBX data centers and connections. Click Download Report to download a copy of the map and report.
Interactive Map
The Interactive Map section displays all metro and IBX data center locations. Hover over any red location marker to view the Metro name. In the location balloon, click an IBX link to go directly to that IBX. From this page, another link to the IBX Technical Specification displays a data sheet, which is available to print or download.
