Overview
What is Customer Resource Hierarchy?
Customer Resource Hierarchy is a hierarchical structure that reflects your organization setup. It comprises building blocks that include different types of organizations, projects, and product assets such as Fabric connections or Network Edge virtual devices. Create organizations and projects, and manage billing accounts assignment to build a resource structure that matches the setup and operations of your organization.
Organizations
Organizations allow you to model your resource hierarchy so that it matches your actual organizational setup. Organizations can be parent nodes for other organizations or for projects.
Example
In this example, the root organization hosts two organizational units:
- Tres Commas – Standard customer organization that can be used for internal projects purposes
- Moonshot – Reseller organization for managing your end-customers organizations and projects
The reseller organization is divided into two sub-units that serve domestic and international end-customers. The sub-unit that handles the international end-customers is further divided into organizations that do business in specific countries.
Projects
Projects enable convenient assignment and management of assets required for your end-customer or internal projects needs.
Example
In this example, the reseller has created separate organizations and projects for their end-customers. Each project entity has been assigned a set of product specific assets required to carry out a given end-customer commitment.
