Connect to a Network Edge Device Using a Service Token

To create a connection with a service token:

1. Sign in to the Equinix Customer Portal and navigate to Network Edge.

2. From the Connections menu, select Create a Connection.

3. On the Connect using Service Token card, click Enter Service Token.

   

4. In the Redeem Service Token prompt, paste the service token provided in the email you received.

   

5. Click Validate.

6. Once the service token has been validated, click Redeem. The connection order workflow will display.

7. In the Origin section, click Virtual Device.

8. Select a Location. All of the available Virtual Devices in the selected location will display.

9. Select the Virtual Device Type.

10. Select a Virtual Device.

    Note: Only the devices(s) on which the service token was created will be available for selection.

11. Click Next.

12. In the Connection Information section, enter a connection name.

13. (Optional) Enter the purchase order number.

14. Select a Connection Speed. Connection speed options are pre-defined by the Virtual Device owner.

15. Click Next.

16. Review your order.

17. Click Submit Order. A confirmation page will display with information about the connection, including the unique ID and a link to view the connection in your Connections Inventory.

Create Redundant Connections with Service Tokens for Redundant Network Edge Devices

You can create a pair of connections from your redundant virtual devices with two separate service tokens. Once these connections have been created, you can view, edit, and delete them from your Connections Inventory. To create redundant connections to redundant virtual devices:

1. Sign in to the Equinix Customer Portal and navigate to Network Edge.

2. On the Connections menu, click Create a Connection.

3. On the Connect using Service Token card, click Enter Service Token.

4. In the Redeem Service Token prompt, paste the destination (primary) service token.

5. Click Validate.

6. Once the service token has been validated, click Redeem. The connection order workflow will display.

7. In the Origin section, click Virtual Device.

8. Select a Location.

9. In the Select Virtual Device Type section, select Virtual Devices, Redundant Devices, or Clusters.

10. In the Select Connection Type section, select Redundant Connection.

11. Select a virtual device.

    Note: Only the devices in the location selected will display.

12. In the Redundant Destination section, click Service Token.

13. In the Redeem Service Token prompt, paste the redundant destination (secondary) service token.

14. Click Validate.

15. Click Next.

16. In the Primary Connection Information section, enter a name for the primary connection.

17. In the Secondary Connection Information section, enter a name for the secondary connection.

18. In the Interface Selection section, select:

    • Automatically select the next available interface on my device(s) if you want to create the service token for the next available interface.

    • I will select an interface if you want to specify the interface for which the service token is being created.

19. (Optional) Enter the purchase order number.

20. Select a Primary Connection Speed.

21. Select a Secondary Connection Speed.

22. Click Next.

23. Review your order.

24. Click Submit Order. A confirmation page will display with information about the connection, including the unique ID and a link to view the connection in your Connections Inventory.
