Getting Started

This topic gives an overview of how to set up users and permissions, and how to log in to Network Edge.

Network Edge includes everything you need to start interconnecting to cloud, content, and data center assets. 

Account/User Set Up

1. Set up Account and Establish Primary Administrator – In the Equinix Fabric portal, new users sign up for an Equinix Fabric account to order Network Edge Virtual Devices and Equinix Fabric Remote Ports. This portal account gives you Primary Administrator account access if you are the first user signing up for your company. For detailed instructions, see New User Equinix Fabric Portal Access.

2. Create New Users and Set up Access Permissions – In the Equinix Customer Portal, the Primary Administrator sets up access permissions to determine who can access the Equinix Fabric Portal. For detailed instructions, see Managing Network Edge Permissions.

3. Set up Permissions for Virtual Connections and Devices – In the Equinix Customer Portal, the Primary Administrator sets up virtual device and connection permissions to establish which users can:

   • Create, modify, and delete Network Edge devices.

   • Create, modify, and delete Network Edge device configurations.

   • Create, modify, and delete Network Edge device connections.

4. Set up New Billing Accounts – In the Equinix Fabric portal, set up billing accounts for each destination country. For detailed instructions, see Billing Account Management.

5. Review the Legal Terms – In the Equinix Fabric portal, review the Network Edge legal terms. To download a copy of the legal terms, see Network Edge Policy.

Log In

To log in to Network Edge:

1. Go to the Equinix Fabric portal.
2. Enter your Username and Password.
3. Click Network Edge.
