Ports Inventory

The Port Inventory provides a single location for viewing all of your ports and accessing details for each port.

To access the Port Inventory:

  1. Log in to Equinix Fabric.

  2. From the Ports menu, select Port Inventory.

  3. Use the context switcher and select a project to display ports associated with the selected project, or choose an organization to display ports associated with projects nested under the selected organization.

    Note: Applicable to organizations transitioned to Equinix Identity and Access Management.

A list of all of your ports will display with the following information:

  • Port Name

  • Project - Project in the customer resource hierarchy, that the port is assigned to. For more information, see Identity and Access Management - Projects.

    Tip: Projects are displayed when you select an organization in the context switcher.

    Note: Applicable to organizations transitioned to Equinix Identity and Access Management.

  • Location

  • IBX

  • Port Priority

  • Bandwidth

  • Encapsulation

  • Cable ID

  • Connections

    Note: Click View All next to a port to see all of the connections to the port.

Search

Use the search fields to narrow your port list.

  • Port Name or Cable ID – Use to search by a specific port name or by Cable ID.

  • Location – Use to search for ports in a specific location.

  • Bandwidth – Use to search for ports with a specific bandwidth.

  • Sort By – Use to sort your list.

Port Details

Click on a port in your Port Inventory to view the port details.

The details are divided into four sections:

  • Virtual Details – Provides basic information about your port.

  • Physical Details – Provides physical information about the port including port status, cage, cabinet, your patch panel information, and the Equinix patch panel information.

  • Port Utilization – Provides a statistical overview of port utilization.

  • Activity Log – Displays the creation date and last update date for the port.

Tip: Click Actions to create a trouble ticket regarding the selected port or create a connection.

View

Change the way your Port Inventory displays using the view buttons.

Click the tile button to view each port in a separate tile.

Click the list button to view a list of ports.
