Use Cases

Equinix Internet Access offers advantages in resolving complex use cases.

Main Internet Service

Main internet service provides the primary source of internet access for IP transit needs, including locally optimized public SaaS accessibility. You are offered flexible and scalable bandwidth plans, single- or dual-port options, static or BGP routing choices, and additional IPv4 and IPv6 addresses for your co-location infrastructure. Two or more upstream Service Providers are available in each metro to ensure availability, reliability, and performance.

Backup or Alternate Internet Service

Alternate internet service acts as a backup to carrier-direct services. In addition to multiple Tier 1 ISPs, this service uses local peering platforms to connect to public SaaS and regional NSPs to augment your primary internet service.

This service offers you flexible and scalable bandwidth plans, single or multi-port options, static or BGP routing choices, and additional IPv4 and IPv6 addresses for your co-location infrastructure.

Small Bandwidth Management Access Channel

Equinix Internet Access provides an alternate channel to manage servers and networks when your primary internet access is unavailable. This separate, low bandwidth channel is useful when you are setting up initial build configurations, and when you need ongoing support.
