Local vs Global Billing Accounts
Depending on the types of services that are going to be ordered with the billing account you are creating, you can choose the ‘type’ of billing account to create -- Local or Global.
Local Billing Accounts are required for Colocation products and services. If you are ordering Digital products and services, you can use either a local or global account.
If you have multiple colocation and digital services deployed globally, you will need multiple billing accounts.
Local Billing Accounts
Local Billing Accounts can be used for ordering both Colocation and Digital Services. You create and manage separate Billing Accounts for each country where your services are deployed.
If you are ordering Colocation products or services, you must have a Local Billing Account for the country where the products and services are located. Separate billing accounts are required for each country as local taxation laws are applicable on such services. You pay in the local currency of the country where services are deployed and individual invoices are generated for each local billing account.
Global Billing Accounts
Global Billing Accounts can be used for ordering Digital Services such as:
- Fabric
- Internet Access
- Internet Exchange
- Network Edge
- Precision Time
Create a single Global Billing Account to order digital services across multiple countries with a single currency and get a single invoice for all your deployments.
Global Billing Accounts can not be used to order Colocation products and services.
