More details for each of the products listed below can be found in that product's Release Notes, which can be accessed via the links provided. The Release Notes contain detailed information about the latest features, improvements, fixes, and other updates that have been implemented in our products and services.

Equinix Fabric

The Equinix Fabric 2024.2 release, available in April, includes the following improvements:

  • Introduces the Fabric Pricing Calculator, a tool for estimating the cost of your Fabric deployment.

  • Adds the Unlimited Port Plus port package that enables creation of unlimited number of remote connections at no extra charge.

  • A refreshed workflow design for Quick Connecting to Oracle FastConnect.

  • Adds support for Metal VLANs as origin asset types when connecting to Amazon Web Services.

Equinix Fabric APIs

The Equinix Fabric R2024.2 release, available in April, includes the following improvements:

  • 13 new APIs to build a robust suite to support Route Filter and Route Filter Rules.

  • A new field, outboundASPrependCount, has been added to Routing Protocol APIs to prepend FCR's ASN toward IPv4/IPv6 BGP peer.

  • A new object, operation, has been added. It includes the following two new fields to Routing Protocol APIs to display the BGP connection state: operationalStatus and opStatusChangedAt.

  • A new use case to support Metal to AWS connectivity.

  • Fabric APIs are now Terraform enabled. Terraform simplifies the process of provisioning infrastructure resources through automation.

Equinix Fabric Cloud Router

The Equinix Fabric 2024.2 release, available in April, includes the following improvements:

  • New features for connection and control, including Network Edge connectivity.

  • Route filters and Quick Connect workflows to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) are supported.

Network Edge

The Network Edge 2024.3 release, available in March, includes the following improvements:

  • Equinix Internet Access (EIA) can now ordered on any available data interface on a Network Edge Virtual Device over Equinix Fabric. This phase supports single port EIA service with the option for you to bring your own IP address blocks or use Equinix provided IP blocks.

  • BlueCat Integrity DNS and DHCP servers in the Equinix Marketplace

Network Edge APIs

The Network Edge R2024.2 release, available in April, includes the following improvements:

  • The following new fields have been added to support BlueCat onboarding: privateAddress, privateCidrMask, privateGateway, and licenseId.

  • The following new fields have been added to provide the deletion log of virtual devices: deletedBy and deletedDate.

  • The supportedLicenseTiers array is now available and shows the list of licensing tiers supported by a software package.

Equinix Internet Access

The Equinix Internet Access 2024.03 release, available in March, includes the following improvement:

Equinix Internet Access now includes support for single connections to virtual devices through Network Edge. Within a few minutes, users can set up and configure a new single-connection Internet Access service. Single, redundant, and cluster configurations are currently supported.

Equinix Precision Time

The Equinix Precision Time 2024.1 release, available in February, includes the following improvement:

Equinix no longer supports the Precision Time Portal. Instead, users can sign directly into the Fabric portal and use a streamlined Quick Connect procedure to efficiently order, configure, and activate their Precision Time services. Cross Connects

The Cross Connects 2024.2 release, available in April, includes the following improvement:

To provide Equinix customers with a more efficient online experience, the unified Cross Connects ordering process provides an option for diverse campus cross connections. In addition, to simplify the ordering procedure, generative AI is now integrated from uploaded letters of authorization (LOAs) to automatically include the Z-side provider details.

Internet Exchange

The Internet Exchange 2024.01 release, available in January, includes the following improvements:

  • Support for resellers, additional peering capability, and metro expansions.

  • Ports for link aggregation groups are available as options from the IX portal when customers place online orders.

  • Enhancements to purchase order management
